It took a life-changing accident for Jon and Linda Senn to discover their true calling. The owners of Cascade In-Home Care didn’t start out as business owners or even working in the senior care industry. Linda had a master’s degree in BioEngineering and Jon had served in the Army as an Infantry Officer. When he left the military in 1992, his intention was to start a career in federal law enforcement. But a car accident changed everything.
Jon was in a coma for two weeks and was not expected to live. It took a year of rehabilitation before he could think about work or another career. By that time, he had found a new desire to help people in the medical field. He gives full credit to God for healing him and allowing him to recover to be able to work as an Occupational Therapist.
Almost 18 years later, a friend was telling Jon and Linda about the struggles he and his family were facing caring for his parents who lived with them. In January 2010, Jon started helping this family a couple of days a week to care for their parents and grandparents. A few short months later, Jon realized that God had given him the compassion and skills needed to provide excellent caregiving. Linda laughs as she recalls Jon coming home and telling her that he wanted to start a business! Well, they became licensed as Cascade Companion Care (now Cascade In-Home Care) and started with Linda operating a home office in a spare bedroom and Jon providing care for their one client and marketing for more.
Nearly seven years later, they are in their third office and employ over 100 staff and caregivers, serving seniors and their families living from Shoreline north to Mount Vernon. They credit God, wonderful staff and caregivers for their success.
